RM 5th IBEROAMERICAN PHOTOBOOK COMPETITION

Registration and Submission Deadline: 15 September 2014

Focusing primarily on photography, contemporary art, and little-known literary treasures and “rarities,” RM is launching for the fifth year this platform to make better known the work of both young and established photographers resident in Iberoamerica through the publication of the winning submission in book form and its worldwide circulation.

Terms of participation
Who can participate? Professionals, students, and photographers in general either born or resident in Latin America, Spain, or Portugal are eligible to participate. Either individual or collective submissions will be accepted and there are no limitations on subject matter.

What does the submission consist of? A proposal for a photobook in pdf format consisting of a sequence of images with a book design and format in as advanced a state as possible. Participants are also free to submit a dummy (in addition to the pdf file).

What projects are ineligible for submission? Any work that has been previously published in book or periodical form or whose copyright cannot be proven by the participant.

JURY
The winning project and honorable mentions shall be
chosen by: Christopher Anderson, Iatã Cannabrava, Claudi Carreras, Iñaki Domingo, Alexis Fabry, Horacio Fernández, Julien Frydman, Alfonso Morales, Daido Moriyama, Pablo Ortiz Monasterio, Martin Parr and Alec Soth.

On 22 October 2014, RM will announce the winning
 project and the honorable mentions of the 5th Iberoamerican Photobook Competition through the competition webpage.

The winning project will be published in book form, in Spanish and English, with a minimum print run of 1,000 copies and distributed worldwide by RM through its extensive distribution network.

The jury may award up to 3 honorable mentions to other outstanding projects.

PRIZES
Winning project
• Publication of the winning project in book form, in Spanish and English, with a minimum print run of 1,000 copies and international distribution.
• 50copies of the book for the author.
• Promotion of the winning project through the media, social networks, the RM webpage, and the distribution of 100 review copies to opinion makers and photography scholars and specialists worldwide.

Honorable mentions
• A packet of RM titles
• Promotion of the winning project through
the media, social networks, and the RM webpage
