Positive intrinsic values of sports, shown through non-professional sports practiced anywhere in the world.

There are two prize categories:
Photo Award prize (single picture): 40.000 € for the winner and 1000 € for 29 finalists
Project Award prize (project idea to be developed): 40.000 €

The FCBARCELONA PHOTO AWARDS are sports-themed awards, aimed at world-class artists who use photography as a creative vehicle, as well as professional photographers and photojournalists who see sports as a means of artistic expression.

The Awards are not about sports performance photography, but about the positive values related to the practice of sports. This allows the participation of not only sports photographers, but of all professional photographers, photojournalists and artists, who may demonstrate high quality photographic works that depict these values.

*Vicente Todolí. Director of Tate Modern London until 2010. Artistic Director to the Hangar Bicocca in Milan
*Azu Nwagbogu. Founder and director of the African Artists' Foundation
*Sandra S. Phillips. Curator Emeritus of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

Project Award prize
*Ayperi Karabuda. Former Vice President of photography at Reuters
*Christopher Anderson. Member of Magnum Photos. He won the Robert Capa Gold Medal
*Stephen Mayes. More than 25 years of experience managing the jobs and careers of photographers at the highest level in different areas.

FC Barcelona:

The FC Barcelona defends the direct relationship between the values of Art and Sports. Although it is fully conscious of the many prejudices that nowadays, separate both worlds. It strongly believes that it is possible to go beyond these borders by building bridges that sustainably integrate into society the positive values common to Art and Sports.

FC Barcelona will organize an exhibition with the winning entries of both categories, as well as the finalists of the Photo Award category. It will also make utmost efforts to publicize globally the winners, carrying out various activities to promote the awards in different cities in Europe, USA and Asia.
