Amsterdam 20-22 April, 2017

The new World Press Photo Festival takes place in Amsterdam 20-22 April: Three days of creative presentations and inspiring talks from the world’s leading photographers and digital storytellers.

More than 30 award-winning photographers and digital storytellers from around the world will showcase their work at the festival. Come and meet them and mix with leading editors and members of the visual journalism community.

● The festival pass offers free entry to the flagship 2017 World Press Photo Exhibition from 20-22 April. See prizewinning work selected from 80,408 photos from 126 countries, staged in the historic De Nieuwe Kerk, Dam Square Amsterdam.

Thursday 20 April
Doors open at 13.30, program finishes at 17.30.
Speakers include 2017 Photo and Digital Storytelling Contest winners Robin Hammond, Tom Jenkins, Jessica Dimmock, Mathieu Willcocks, Michael Vince Kim and Paula Bronstein. With special guests Muhammed Muheisen and Marco Grob.

Friday 21 April
Doors open at 09.00, program finishes at 17.30
Speakers include 2017 Photo and Digital Storytelling Contest winners Jonathan Bachman, Jamal Taraqai, Zoeann Murphy and Kevin Schaul, Cameron Spencer and Kai-Oliver Pfaffenbach, Daniel Berehulak, Zackary Canepari, Bence Máté and this year’s World Press Photo of the Year winner, Burhan Ozbilici. With special guests Stanley Greene presenting this year’s Sem Presser Lecture supported by Dupho, Giles Duley, ANP, Tshepiso Mazibuzo and Amak Mahmoodian.

Saturday 22 April
Doors open at 09.00, program finishes at 17.30
Speakers include 2017 Photo and Digital Storytelling Contest winners Daniel Etter, Topaz Adizes, Carla Tramullas and Julia Gorbach, Felipe Dana, Amber Bracken, Justin Maxon, Jared Moossy and Brent Stirton. With special guests Stuart Franklin, Frank Schallmaier, Daniella Zalcman and Ruddy Roye.

The Canon Night
On Friday 21 April, Canon will host an exclusive evening showing of the 2017 World Press Photo Exhibition in De Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam. Meet the winners of this year’s photo and digital storytelling contests as they present their work.
