The exhibition Thinking of the Future: New Photographic Narratives in Dakar is the result of the Trasatlántica portfolio reviews, Organized by PHotoESPAÑA together with the cultural department of the Spanish Embassy in Senegal. The work of the selected photographers is closely related to ordinary life in the city, Dakar, and the country in general, Senegal.

They are all interested in depicting their culture, their customs, and their day-to-day routine: infancy, the presence of the sea, the landscapes, the women, family, sport, religious and cultural traditions, music, dance, the shortcomings and difficulties they face. They also put us in contact with the political developments, festivities and con icts encountered by their neighbourhoods or communities, with European photographers residing in the country offering a particularly critical and poignant perspective. Ultimately, it is an exploration of the plasticity and the paradoxes of the territory through the means of photography.
