The photographic journey of Bastiaan Woudt (Alkmaar, 1987) begins at an early age. As a photographer, his work truly got off the ground after his studies. Portraits of his loved ones were his focal point at that time. But his passion for photography rapidly expanded into the field of collecting books and prints as well.

Woudt renounced his Pictorialism/documentary style with a new emphasis on abstract form and sharper resolution of detail. Contrast is a recurrent effect in his works. Woudt is now known for his strong black and white portraits and his eye catching works are mostly centered around the female body. He still experiments with new methods and cameras to eventually become one of the world’s great masters of fine art photography.
