"Material" was published at Kerber Verlag November 2018. The series includes narratives, notes and observations from the past ten years, in which Tobias Kruse has produced images that translate a mood, a sense of life into an authentic visual language. "In recent years, Tobias Kruse has captured the unspeakable moments of life: the shape of an object, the certainty of impending injuries, the birth of children and happiness on their skin," wrote Laura Benz on the occasion of the book’s publication. "Many call the work a diary, but of course that’s not what it is", says Tobias Kruse. "It’s miniatures, a condensate."

Tobias Kruse was born in 1979 in Mecklenburg. He studied photography with Prof. Ute Mahler at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie and attended the masterclass of Prof. Arno Fischer. Since 2011 he is a member of the agency OSTKREUZ. Since 2017 he teaches at the Ostkreuz School of Photography. His works are exhibited and published internationally. Tobias Kruse lives and works in Berlin.

Die Publikation "Material" erschien im Kerber Verlag im November 2018. Die Serie umfasst visuelle Erzählungen, Notizen und Beobachtungen aus den letzen zehn Jahren, in denen Tobias Kruse Bilder produziert hat, die eine Stimmung, ein Lebensgefühl in eine authentische Bildsprache überführt haben. "Tobias Kruse hat in den vergangenen Jahren die unsagbaren Momente des Lebens festgehalten: Die Form eines Gegenstands, die Gewissheit um bevorstehende Verletzungen, die Geburt der Kinder und das Glück auf ihrer Haut", schrieb Laura Benz anlässlich der Buchveröffentlichung. "Viele nennen die Arbeit ein Tagebuch, aber genau das ist es natürlich nicht", sagt Tobias Kruse. "Es sind Miniaturen, ein Kondensat."

Tobias Kruse wurde 1979 in Mecklenburg geboren. Er studierte Fotografie bei Prof. Ute Mahler an der Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie und besuchte die Meisterklasse von Prof. Arno Fischer. Seit 2011 ist er Mitglied bei der Agentur OSTKREUZ. Seit 2017 unterrichtet er selbst an der Ostkreuz Schule für Fotografie. Seine Arbeiten werden international ausgestellt und publiziert. Tobias Kruse lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.
