Mexico City for Nacho López was a place of representations. He systematically registered with his camera everything in the city that had begun to expand: the emblematic buildings that would define roadways and the skyline of the city; the happiness and weaknesses of the working-class neighborhoods; the angst and solitude of the most neglected and helpless people; the everyday transit of multitudes; the joy that endured in spite of everything; the poverty and the faith of the people that still had hope… The world of the dispossessed became a central theme for this photographer: the loving and festive nature that he found in them were also in his work.
