The photography auction curated by Maura Parodi is comprised of about 150 lots, offering a choice among those names that have historically enabled photography to occupy not only its rightful place but simultaneously pursue a path of a technical, formal and expressive evolution, aligning it to the traditional media from both a conceptual level and a mercantile interest. From photographs by Galdi and Von Gloeden to those of models from the 40's and 50's. (Maywald, Ghergo, De Antonis, Hoppe). Vintage photographs taken from famous Italian films, Mastroianni and Ekberg in the famous scene in "La Dolce Vita" by Fellini. A rare '68 vintage by Lee Friedlander published in the important text by the Moma. The most familiar images of the great master Giacomelli will be in auction. The shots taken in Scanno between 1957 and 1959 that had already excited great photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson. The everyday and real life interpreted with simplicity and a technical mastery making everything oscillate between magic and poetry. Remaining among the Italians masters there will be the classic rooms of the Venice Biennale immortalized by Ugo Mulas. Further more photographs by Ghirri. Leaving national borders we have a rare shot "stolen" by the photographer Tichy, a landscape of Olafur Eliasson, a scene of everyday contemporary Chinese teenage life by Tillmans, the famous floor by Vim Delvoye, a "Tarantino-style" image of the photographer Lorca diCorcia. The obvious presence of a Vanessa Beecroft with one of her models caught in an acrobatic pose. And then Vik Muniz, Klein, Luthi, Kiarostami, Moriyama.
