Després de l'exposició Àfriques: l'artista i la ciutat (2001), on es feia un ampli recorregut per la creació contemporània de l'Àfrica en els seus múltiples registres expressius, el Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona proposa Bamako 03. Fotografia africana contemporània una nova aproximació a la vitalitat creativa del continent africà que, malgrat la seva proximitat geogràfica, continua sent entre nosaltres una gran desconeguda. En aquest cas, el projecte se centra en el món de la fotografia. Presentem unes 200 fotografies de les 2.000 que ha reunit la darrera edició de la biennal Rencontres de la Photographie Africaine de Bamako, un esdeveniment de periodicitat biennal que, al cap de cinc edicions, s'ha consolidat com una de les grans cites de la creació artística africana. L'edició d'enguany ha tingut lloc a la capital del Mali del 20 d'octubre al 20 de novembre de 2003, sota la direcció de Simon Njami. De les obres seleccionades de les Rencontres de la Photographie Africaine de Bamako que presenta el CCCB, podeu veure el treball de nou dels fotògrafs participants en l'exposició internacional el lema de la qual ha estat, en aquesta edició, "Rituals sagrats, rituals profans. Així mateix presentem una mostra de fotografíes egípcies, i les monogràfiques dedicades als fotògrafs: Santu Mofokeng (Sud Africa), Youssef Safieddine (Líban/Senegal) i Van Leo (Egipte). Gràcies a l'acord establert amb les entitats organitzadores de les Rencontres de Bamako -l'Association Françaises d'Action Artistique (AFAA) i el Ministeri de Cultura de Mali-, el CCCB presenta una àmplia selecció de les propostes més interessants de la darrera edició. La selecció que arriba a Barcelona ha estat realitzada per Pep Subirós. ____english____ After the exhibition Africas: the artist and the city (2001), with its in-depth exploration of African contemporary creation in its many expressive registers, the CCCB presents Bamako 03. Contemporary African Photography, a further look at the creative vitality of a region which despite its geographical proximity continues, for us, to be an unknown quantity. In this case, the project centres on the world of photography. We present in the region of 200 of the 2000 photographs that made up the last Rencontres de la Photographie Africaine de Bamako, a biennial event that, after five editions, has become consolidated as one of the continent's foremost artistic meeting places. This year's edition took place in the capital of Mali between 20 October and 20 November 2003 under the direction of Simon Njami. The exhibits on show at the Rencontres de la Photographie Africaine de Bamako and selected for presentation at the CCCB include the work of nine of the photographers who took part in the international show, last year with the theme of 'Sacred and profane rituals'. We also present a show of Egyptian photographs and the monographic shows devoted to Santu Mofokeng (South Africa), Youssef Safieddine (Lebanon/Senegal) and Van Leo (Egypt). Thanks to an agreement with the organisers of Bamako's Rencontres (the Association Française d'Action Artistique - AFAA -- and the Ministry of Culture of Mali), the CCCB is able to present a broad-based selection of the latest show's most attractive proposals.
