The exhibition Romantic Constructivism by the Saint Petersburg-based photographer Maria Snigirevskaya features her best photo works created from 1982 to 2014. The display comprises over 120 still life, cityscape and portrait photographs.

The majority of Maria Snigirevskaya’s works are focused on the studying of light. The artist uses light and shade in a masterly fashion to create dynamic constructivist-like compositions with several conceptual points which reveal to the viewers the everyday life in its spontaneity and sensual vulnerability. Snigirevskaya applies this approach to the whole range of her work, and thus has managed to create a unified, cohesive and coherent collection of photographs which combine both rational and sensual aspects.
