Leonora Hamill, France/United Kingdom, born in 1978, is an artist who operates between film, video, and photography. She recently completed Furtherance, a site-specific multi-channel video installation for St Eustache Church in Paris commissioned by Rubis Mécénat Cultural Fund.

Art in Progress is an extensive exploration of art schools across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. In this significant body of work, which won the Prix HSBC pour la Photographie in 2012 and is published by Actes Sud, the depiction of artistic practices, art historical legacies, and contemporary arts production contribute to a greater understanding of the vital role contemporary art plays in an ever more global cultural dialogue.

Loredana Nemes, Romania/Germany, born in 1972, works in black and white on specific themes ranging from mankind on the underground in her native country Romania, to the Turkish male community observed through the windows of their secluded cafes in Kreuzberg, Berlin. Her recent works have been shown in German institutions and major collections. Hatje Cantz recently published her Beautiful and Beyond series.

We are exhibiting Nemes’ latest project Gier (Greed), in which she portrays birds fighting for food - an evocative and dramatic metaphor depicting a society today that desperately struggles to survive in this globalized world where resources are becoming increasingly scarce.

Ohad Matalon, Israel, born in 1972 is a prominent Israeli photographer who teaches at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. In 2014 he had a solo show at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.

Matalon’s work raises profound and disturbing political and geopolitical issues. In his on-going project The Zone, he has researched the geographical and social margins of Israel, seeking their unique and individual characteristics. In his more recent works, such as Tower-Egypt Border (2011/13) and Zeelim (2013), belonging to the series Across a dark Land, the dichotomy of Israel’s on-going dramatic seek for normality is intensely evoked by military towers, used for simulating warfare, or leftovers from long abandoned war targets and utopian landscapes seen through military hideouts.
