"Vaticanum II"

Gallery f5,6 is happy to announce the exhibition "Vaticanum II" with works by Lothar Wolleh (1930-1979). Between 1962 and 1965 Lothar Wolleh captured the proceedings of the Second Vatican Council in Rome. These photographs not only became part of the iconic memory of the 20th century, but even today provide insight into an arcane and inaccessible space. The summer of 2015 is dedicated to two pioneers of colour photography. The works by Lothar Wolleh will be on display on the gallerys ground floor until June 26th and will then, on occasion of the show opening of Saul Leiter to celebrate the Kunstwochenende München, move upstairs to be dsiplayed until July 31st.

Die Galerie f5,6 freut sich, die Ausstellung Vaticanum II von Lothar Wolleh (1930-1979) ankündigen zu können. Lothar Wolleh hat in den Jahren 1962 bis 1965 in Rom das Zweite Vatikanische Konzil fotografisch festgehalten. Diese Fotografien haben sich nicht nur in das ikonische Gedächtnis des 20. Jahrhunderts geprägt, sie gewähren uns noch heute Einblick in einen arkanen, der Öffentlichkeit eigentlich verschlossenen Raum.

Der Sommer 2015 soll zwei Pionieren der Farbfotografie gewidmet sein. Bis zum 26. Juni werden die Arbeiten von Lothar Wolleh im Erdgeschoss der Galerie präsentiert und werden dann anlässlich der Ausstellungseröffnung von Saul Leiter, im Rahmen des Kunstwochenende München, in das Obergeschoss ziehen.
