For the first time, the °CLAIR Gallery will participate in the Photo Shanghai, one of the preeminent photography events in Asia. The °CLAIR Gallery will present images that explore the work of women photographers and the role of women as a subject photography. As an homage to the host country, °CLAIR will exhibit the legendary photographs taken by Inge Morath during her 1978 tour of China with her husband Arthur Miller. There will also be several sublime black-and-white images by Lee Miller and some of the iconic photographs of women taken by Erich Hartmann. Finally, the °CLAIR Gallery will use Photo Shanghai as an opportunity to show an exclusive selection of photographs from Chien-Chi Chang that will be included in his upcoming book Jet Lag (Hatje Cantz, September 2015).
