Lars Bohman Gallery is pleased to announce the first solo show by Helena Blomqvist at the gallery since merging with Angelika Knäpper Gallery. In her new series, "Florentine", we are submerged in the memories and dreams, or maybe even fantasies, from the life of the leading lady, Florentine Stein. With her customary sense of light, shadow and palette, Helena Blomqvist stages the personal life of the former ballerina as it is played out in the midst of the cataclysmic political movements of the 20:th century. Existential issues such as loneliness and ageing are set against a backdrop of historical achievments and political trauma.

In conjunction with the exhibition an extensive book on Helena Blomqvist’s artistry will be released.
