In her first major solo exhibition in Italy, young American artist Margot Quan Knight presents a “parallel universe” in which skilful use of digital processing and photography gives reality – or at least plausibility – to what is possible. Starting out from everyday objects and situations, the artist translates thoughts, feelings and abstract sensations into “physical” expressions, so that joy, loneliness and suffering can take shape in the form of pictures that are “truer than truth”. In an interesting form of dialogue, Luisa Raffaelli presents photographs and digital photographic paintings. This is a new series of works in which the artist carries out meticulous photographic research while at the same time experimenting and fragmenting the image with pixels and brushstrokes of color to create new shapes and surfaces. ________________________ La giovane artista statunitense Margot Quan Knight presenta, nella sua prima importante personale in Italia, un “universo parallelo” in cui, grazie ad un attento uso dello strumento fotografico e digitale, il possibile diventa reale, o quanto meno verosimile. Partendo da oggetti e situazioni della quotidianità, l’artista traduce pensieri, sentimenti e sensazioni astratte in espressioni “fisiche”, come se gioia, solitudine e sofferenza potesseroconcretizzarsi in immagini “vere più del vero”. Luisa Raffaelli presenta, in un interessante dialogo, fotografie e pitture fotografiche digitali. Si tratta di una nuova serie di lavori in cui ad un’attenta ricerca fotografica, l’artista affianca, in una sperimentazione e frammentazione dell’immagine, pixel e pennellate di colore, spalmati ed assemblati a creare nuove forme e superfici.
