Opening of the 7th Edition of CORTONA ON THE MOVE

Three days packed with exciting events not to be missed, including guided visits with exhibiting photographers, projections, meetings with photo editors, photographers and national and international experts, plus numerous events for all to participate in.
5 PM, THURSDAY JULY 13th in Palazzo Casali: the festival organisation team and the Mayor of Cortona inaugurate the seventh edition of Cortona On The Move international festival of photography, followed by guided visits with exhibiting photographers.
10.30 AM, FRIDAY JULY 14th in Palazzo Ferretti: presentation of the photobook Non solo gol published in collaboration with the Comune di Cortona. The book explores local sporting associations in the district of Cortona. Speakers include photographer Simone Donati , author of the project, journalist Andrea Scanzi and Antonio Carloni , director of the festival.
8.30 PM, FRIDAY JULY 14th at the Fortezza del Girifalco: cocktails and presentation of FreeJourn, a new dedicated platform for freelance reporters produced by News 3.0 with funding from Google via its first round of Digital News Initiatives.
10.30 AM, SATURDAY JULY 15th at Palazzo Ferretti: Round table on "Una tribù che scatta. Instagram come alfabeto delle immagini" in which experts discuss the activities of the MiBACT (Ministry of National Monuments, the Arts, Culture and Tourism) in the area of photography, and the implications regarding new strategies and new territorial perspectives. Adele Sarno of Huffington Post Italia will be the moderator, with Giulia Ticozzi of La Repubblica and photographers Massimo Siragusa, Marina Sersale and Lavinia Parlamenti.
5 PM, SATURDAY JULY 15th in Teatro Signorelli: you can attend a conversation between Obama's official photographer, Pete Souza, and Time International's photo editor, Alice Gabriner. The talk will take place in the English language with a simultaneous interpreter.
At 6 PM in the same location Sarah Leen, director of photography for National Geographic, will
talk about "Visual Storytelling at National Geographic" (also in English with simultaneous interpreting).
10.15 PM, SATURDAY JULY 15th at Palazzo Casali: our Happiness ONTHEMOVE award presentation will end the 3-day inauguration period. Afterwards there will be an ONTHEMOVE party with DJ set by Mr. Hot Lips.
