HIROYUKI MASUYAMA
"REFLECTION"
Hiroyuki Masuyama is known in Luxembourg for his William Turner series. His love for nature has inspired him to create a series of lightboxes, which emphasize the merging of temporal and spacial perspectives into a new visual impression, challenging conventional viewing habits. With his series Flowers, he allows us to imagine Place de Clairefontaine as a magical blooming meadow. This is his way of reminding us to respect our environment, in order to avoid the necessity of creating "Fake Nature" sooner than we think.

MISHKA HENNER
"COUNTERINTELLIGENCE"
The Internet and the geospatial age have changed everything we thought we knew about photography. Where there were once single viewpoints there are now many thousands. In this golden age of perspectives, the infinite array of documents uploaded to the web offers unprecedented opportunities to reveal the workings of our world. With these themes in mind, Mishka Henner will discuss his works on the American landscape, reflecting on the metaphoric significance of its military and industrial logic. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A.

"MAN-MADE LANDSCAPES"
EDWARD BURTYNSKY, MISHKA HENNER & YVON LAMBERT
This group exhibition showcases eerily beautiful photographs by Edward Burtynsky, Mishka Henner and Yvon Lambert, which tell a spooky tale about the exploitation of nature by humankind.
"If we destroy nature, we destroy ourselves!", argues Burtynsky. In Artnews, Alex Greenberger sums up Mishka Henner’s work "The scariest thing about Mishka Henner’s 'photographs' is that they are so beautiful". Yvon
Lambert’s photographs of "industrial sculptures" portray remnants of Luxembourg’s steel industry...

"PHOTOGRAPHY IN LUXEMBOURG"
ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION WITH VINCENZO CARDILE, YVON LAMBERT, MICHEL MEDINGER, RAOUL RIES AND MICHÈLE WALERICH
Luxembourg owns two legendary photography collections: Edward Steichen’s The Family of Man in Clervaux, and The Bitter Years 1935-1941 in Dudelange. There are a number of institutions showing photography on a regular basis now, and quite a few galleries who promote photography. What does that mean for artists who have decided to make a living out of photography today?

JENS LIEBCHEN
"ON CONCEPTS AND PHOTOBOOKS"
Jens Liebchen’s work deals with political and social issues. His major series System seems to portrait stunning natural landscapes, title and other hints however reveal the huge black pines inside a blizzard to be as strictly shaped as Japans culture and society. The lecture will be an introduction to his work, of which an important part is the production of photo books. Many of his publications are highly acclaimed, such as "DL07 – Stereotypes of war": a photographic investigation which is prominently presented in Parr/Badger’s The Photobook – a history.

"FAKE NATURE"
JENS LIEBCHEN & HIROYUKI MASUYAMA
This exhibition will feature the series "System" by Jens Liebchen in dialogue with Hiroyuki Masuyama’s series Flowers. In 2014, Hannes Wanderer wrote about the series: "Nature only delivered the material for the trees. Position, growth, size and shape have been defined by people and designed down to the smallest detail." In his series Flowers Masuyama creates images that unite all seasons and thereby overrides the cycle of spring, summer, autumn and winter, which has shaped human life for centuries.
