Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, the Chicago-based MacArthur Award recipient, is a multi-media artist whose large scale installations have been featured in recent major exhibitions at the Whitney Museum and the Museum of Modern Art. In this exhibition, organized by the Cranbrook Academy and Art Museum, the artist engages the modernist architecture of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe to produce a variety of filmed scenarios that function as provocative social and political metaphors. Curated by Irene Hoffman, former curator of exhibitions, Cranbrook Art Museum, currently curator of contemporary art at the Orange County Art Museum. The full color catalogue includes an interview with the artist by PBICA director Michael Rush.
