During Unseen Framer Framed will present Jody Brand’s (Cape Town, 1989). Her photography is driven by her mission to challenge present representations of minorities. This exhibition shows Brand’s documentation of alternative South African realities. By portraying her friends (chomma) in the unscripted act of simply being themselves, Brand creates a beautifully honest visualisation of their multi-layered personalities and culture. In so doing, Brand’s work exposes an untold, unseen, intimate truth about the South African youth.
