Swimming Pool is a project that Švarbová began in 2014, motivated by her search for suggestive locations and fascination for public swimming pools: their sterile and geometric beauty set the tone for these photographs.

Despite the retro air of the settings, the pictures evoke a futuristic sensation as well, like that of a magnificent fractured utopia. There is no emotion or individuality. The artificial detachment created by Švarbová’s vision allows for a unique visual pleasure, unobtainable in reality.
