Among the photographic highlights of the "Contemporary Art" auction are three works by Thomas Ruff from the "Nights", "Nudes", and "Substrates" series (lot 527, 541, 542, € 20/30,000 - € 50/70,000). The large-format C-prints mark important stages in the artistic development of the Düsseldorf-based photo artist since the 1990s - from the documentation of an existing situation captured with the aid of a night vision camera to the alienation of anonymous internet data and pure abstraction. At the same time, they present attractive and characteristic examples within these groups of works.

A close-up photographic self-portrait of Gerhard Richter crossing his eyes may also arouse some interest. This ironic self-portrait as an "anti-hero" is a witty response to the traditional, generally idealizing concept of the artist's self-portrait (lot 511, € 20/30,000).

Zu den Highlights der Auktion "Zeitgenössische Kunst" gehören drei Arbeiten von Thomas Ruff aus den Serien "Nächte", "Nudes" und "Substrate". Die großformatigen C-Prints markieren wichtige Stationen in der künstlerischen Entwicklung des Düsseldorfer Photokünstlers seit den 1990er Jahren – von der Dokumentation einer vorgefundenen, mithilfe einer Nachtsichtkamera festgehaltenen Situation über die Verfremdung anonymer Internetdaten bis hin zur reinen Abstraktion. Zugleich stellen sie attraktive und typische Beispiele innerhalb ihrer Werkgruppen dar (Lot 527, 542, 542, € 20/30.000 bis 50/70.000)

Interesse dürfte auch ein photographisches Selbstportrait Gerhard Richters als Schielender in Nahansicht hervorrufen, eine ironische Selbstdarstellung als "Anti-Held" in Antwort auf das traditionelle, meist idealisierende Konzept des Künstlerselbstbildnisses (Lot 511, € 20/30.000).
