Workshop in Oaxaca with renowned photographer and experienced workshop leader Mary Ellen Mark for professional photojournalists, documentary photographers and experienced amateurs. Workshop location is the Manuel Alvarez Bravo Photo Center. All work is in B&W, 35 mm and medium format, with C41 processing of film. Students meet the evening of the 4th for dinner. July 5th, Ms. Mark reviews each student’s portfolio and discusses his or her project during the workshop. Then each day each student meets individually with Mary Ellen Mark in the morning, photographs during the day, turns in film to the lab to be processed and meets with the group in the evening. Ms. Mark is assisted in Mexico by Marcela Taboada. July 4-14. $2250 includes instruction and hotel accommodations (single occupancy July 4-14 at Hotel Marquéz del Valle, on the city square in Oaxaca). Meals, travel and lab fees not included.
