Within her latest series ‘A Global Sense of Place’ Felicity Hammond addresses the material collision between the global image and local urban realities by re-printing images onto surfaces commonly used in billboard advertisements, and tearing, folding, sun-bleaching, and rephotographing them. The project includes images that are punctured by photographs taken both in Amsterdam and London, alongside other cities which might be considered to have a ‘global’ identity.
