A filmmaker attuned to otherness, awarded the César for best documentary in 2012 for Les Invisibles, Sébastien Lifshitz has been a passionate collector of amateur photographs since childhood. After Mauvais genre, in 2016, he now presents the exhibition Photo perdue, photo trouvée, bringing together more than 400 images from his private collection. Devised as a subjective anthology of vernacular photography, Sébastien Lifshitz reveals an intimate dimension of his artistic education in this original presentation and brings his films into conversation with a mosaic of photographs found at flea markets, garage sales, or on the internet.
