The audience is the compass. This is why OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH launched a survey at the beginning of the year to become better acquainted with the needs and interests of the guests visiting the collections.

Interest was considerable and far exceeded our expectations: Several hundred people of all age groups and from different regions in Austria and abroad were questioned in personal interviews. One suggestion in particular stood out: almost half of all visitors* expressed the wish for more photographic and media art.

Asked - heard - done: The Francisco Carolinum will be the new venue for photography and media art in Linz.

The photography event starts in October with three new exhibitions:

Das Publikum ist der Kompass. Darum hat die OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH zu Anfang des Jahres eine Umfrage gestartet, um die Bedürfnisse und Interessen der Gäste in unseren Sammlungen besser kennenzulernen.

Das Interesse war sehr groß und übertraf die Erwartungen bei weitem: Mehrere Hundert Menschen aller Altersgruppen und aus unterschiedlichen Regionen in Österreich und dem Ausland wurden in persönlichen Interviews befragt. Besonders eine Anregung stach heraus: Fast die Hälfte aller Besucher*innen wünscht sich mehr Foto- und Medienkunst.

Gefragt – gehört – getan: Das Francisco Carolinum wird der neue Ort für Fotografie und Medienkunst in Linz werden.

Der Fotoschwerpunkt startet bereits im Oktober mit drei Ausstellungen:
