The photo exhibition Life After Conflict, presented at the United Nations headquarters by the International Criminal Court in partnership with the Carmignac Foundation, focuses on the aftermath of conflict and people rebuilding their lives with the support of the Trust Fund for Victims. It brings into focus the stories of survivors of the world’s worst crimes, which reflect the deeper impact of the ICC’s work as it turns 20 years. The exhibition features photographs by Rena Effendi, Pete Muller and Finbarr O’Reilly, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Uganda, Côte d'Ivoire, and Georgia.

A special chapter is devoted to "Life in the DRC", a reportage by Finbarr O’Reilly as part of the 11th Carmignac Photojournalism Award.

The Fondation Carmignac presents Congo, A Sublime Struggle, a monograph by Finbarr O’Reilly, laureate of the 11th Carmignac Photojournalism Award. Titled after a quote from Patrice Lumumba’s independence speech, the book examines the central themes of security and human rights in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo while exploring links to the environment and climate crisis, the country’s colonial history, and how ongoing exploitation by extractive industries affects the lives of the Congolese.
