Identities are complex - as is, quite often, their representation. However, considered as a container that can be filled with very different, even contradictory contents, the concept of identity takes on an aspect that is both tangible and abstract at the same time. "Particles" transforms this concept into a study of sculptural photography. The cubes contain found objects that reflect the character of various sites in Luxembourg in compressed form. In this way, assumptions about urban planning intentions are contrasted with actual use. Fast food on a sports field or a drug stash near a renowned bank allude to socio-geographical realities that rarely surface in popular notions of Luxembourg.

Boris Loder (*1982, Heidenheim, Germany) lives and works in Luxembourg. His studies in literature and geography resonates with his interest in poetic forms of storytelling and the interrelatedness of human behaviour and environment.

Les identités sont complexes - comme l'est souvent leur représentation. Considéré comme un récipient pouvant être rempli de contenus très différents, voire contradictoires, le concept d'identité revêt ici un côté tangible et abstrait à la fois. « Particles » transforme ce concept en étude de photographie sculpturale. Les cubes contiennent des objets trouvés qui reflètent sous forme comprimée le caractère de différents lieux à Luxembourg. De cette façon, les hypothèses sur les intentions de l'aménagement urbain sont mises en contraste avec l'utilisation réelle des espaces. Un fast-food sur un terrain de sport ou une cachette de drogue à côté d'une banque renommée font allusion à des réalités sociogéographiques qui n'apparaissent que très rarement dans les notions populaires du Luxembourg.

Boris Loder (*1982, Heidenheim, Allemagne) vit et travaille au Luxembourg. Il a étudié la littérature et la géographie, ce qui se traduit par son intérêt pour les formes de narration poétiques et l'interdépendance entre les comportements humains et l'environnement.

Identitäten sind komplex - wie oft auch ihre Darstellung. Als Gefäß betrachtet, das mit sehr unterschiedlichen, sogar widersprüchlichen Inhalten gefüllt werden kann, bekommt der Begriff der Identität eine greifbare und abstrakte Seite zugleich. „Particles" verwandelt dieses Konzept in eine Studie skulpturaler Fotografie. Die Würfel enthalten gefundene Objekte, die auf komprimierte Art und Weise die Eigenschaften verschiedener Orte in Luxemburg darstellen. Somit werden Hypothesen zu stadtplanerischen Absichten als Kontrast zur wirklichen Nutzung des Raumes dargestellt. Ein Fastfood-Restaurant auf einem Sportplatz oder ein Drogenversteck neben einer bekannten Bank deuten so jene soziogeografischen Realitäten an, die nur selten in Luxemburg aufgezeigt werden.
