"Cape Verde is true to its name. There, colour is a place, a room, a landscape, a person, a memory. It underscores the lives and stories of its inhabitants. When I travelled to my boyfriend's native island, Santo Antao to visit his family in the summer of 2018, everything felt so familiar and yet so foreign. The scent of coriander perfumed the air and the local food. Its vibrant intensity, its green in my eye and its flavour on my palate, confused both my senses and my ideas. Across the island, I followed its colour and smell, like the street dogs that accompanied me and guided me to unexpected encounters in remarkable places. A journey between dream and reality, imagination and memory, an eternal moment in a suspended world."

Bruno Oliveira (*1993, Sanfins, Portugal) grew up in Luxembourg, where he is currently based. His origins, travel experiences and cultural background form the basis of his artistic work.

Boris Loder (*1982, Heidenheim, Germany) lives and works in Luxembourg. His studies in literature and geography resonates with his interest in poetic forms of storytelling and the interrelatedness of human behaviour and environment.

« Le Cap-Vert porte bien son nom. Là-bas, la couleur est un lieu, une pièce, un paysage, une personne, un souvenir et elle souligne la vie et les histoires de ses habitants. Lorsque je me suis rendu à Santo Antão, l'île natale de mon petit ami, où nous avons rendu visite à sa famille pendant l'été 2018, tout me semblait à la fois si familier et si étranger. L'odeur de la coriandre embaumait l'air et parfumait les repas, sa couleur verte vibrait avec toute son intensité sous mes yeux, sa saveur chatouillait mon palais, brouillant mes sens et mes idées. À travers l'île, j'ai suivi sa couleur et son parfum, tout comme les chiens de rue qui m'accompagnaient et me guidaient à travers des rencontres inattendues dans des lieux exceptionnels. Le voyage se perd entre le rêve et la réalité, il est à la fois fiction et souvenir, un moment éternel dans un monde suspendu. »

Bruno Oliveira (*1993, Sanfins, Portugal) a grandi au Luxembourg, où il est actuellement établi. Ses origines, ses expériences de voyage et son bagage culturel constituent la base de son travail artistique.

„Die Kapverden tragen ihren Namen zu Recht. Dort ist die Farbe ein Ort, ein Raum, eine Landschaft, eine Person, eine Erinnerung und unterstreicht das Leben und die Geschichten der Einwohner. Als ich im Sommer 2018 auf die Geburtsinsel meines Freundes, Santo Antão, reiste, um seine Familie zu besuchen, schien mir alles gleichzeitig vertraut und doch fremd. Der Duft von Koriander erfüllte die Luft und die lokalen Mahlzeiten, seine intensive Farbe vibrierte in meinen Augen und sein Geschmack auf meinem Gaumen. Er verwirrte sowohl meine Sinne als auch meine Gedanken. Auf der Insel folgte ich seiner Farbe und seinem Duft wie die Straßenhunde, die mich begleiteten und mich zu unerwarteten Begegnungen an außergewöhnliche Orte führten. Die Reise verliert sich zwischen Traum und Wirklichkeit, sie ist gleichzeitig Fiktion und Erinnerung, ein ewiger Moment in einer schwebenden Welt."

Bruno Oliveira (*1993, Sanfins, Portugal) wuchs in Luxemburg auf, wo er heute lebt und arbeitet. Seine Herkunft, seine Reiseerfahrungen und sein kultureller Hintergrund bilden die Grundlage seiner künstlerischen Arbeit.
