In this exhibition Marina Abramović traces the collective obsession with death. To do this, she creates compositions that evoke the essence of emptiness, darkness, light, liberation and fear, all symbols normally attributed to the unknown.

The centerpiece of the show is the video installation seven deaths a tribute to the great María Callas, on the centenary of her birth. Taking seven of the soprano's most important arias as a starting point, the Serbian artist offers a delicious and powerful reflection on poetry, the beauty and pain inherent in love, and death.

Along with this video installation, the exhibition includes images of two other works. in the photographic series holding emptiness Abramović tries to capture space. Like a pillar in the center of the composition, his body appears upright and with a look of great forcefulness.

En The Kitchen VIII, from the series The Kitchen, Homage to Saint Therese, the artist once again becomes the center of her own work in a photographic series with autobiographical overtones. The artist made this series in Gijón after reading the diaries of Santa Teresa de Ávila and before the attraction that her character provoked in her. In this series, the artist's gaze sends the viewer into the void in images in which time is completely suspended.
