Book Obscura is pleased to present a photography exhibition of Sohei Nishino commemorating the publication of his book, "Short Stories: Beppu." "Short Stories" is a project that reconstructs Nishino's masterpiece "Diorama Map" as a book. "Diorama Map" is a large diorama created by walking through various cities and combining photographs taken from all angles onto a canvas. In this exhibition, Nishino once again observes the city he created, cutting out portions of the work as if he were re-shooting it and reconstructing it from his memories. The first in the series is the town of Beppu, photographed by Nishino in 2020.
