Via Sarfatti, 25

Mon-Fri 9-20; Sat 10-18
From July 6 to Oct. 31, 2023, the Bocconi University exhibition space in Milan, dedicated to art photography, will host a selection of work by Uli Weber (Ulm, Germany) entitled Goodwood Revival.
The exhibition, promoted by MIA Photo Fair, the most important fair dedicated to photography in Italy, and organized by Fiere di Parma, presents speed, energy, kinetic tension, performance and gazes: these are the ingredients of the 10 works the artist has chosen to dress the exhibition spaces of Via Sarfatti 25.
A preview that will take the artist on tour, first to the historic Automotoretrò show in February 2024 and later, from March 2 to 10 during the spring edition of Mercanteinfiera in Parma.
These are shots taken at the Goodwood estate in West Sussex, not far from London. Between 1930 and 1966, along with Silverstone this was the temple of motor racing, and today those glories are remembered each September with a series of events featuring vintage cars and clothing. Weber wanted to tell the story of the glamour of motor racing, the prestige of those times that always renew excitement, suspense, daring and the struggle with the chrono, with a hint of nostalgia for an era of sophisticated elegance.
The Goodwood Revival photographs on display are taken from Uli Weber's book published by Skira, whose preface is written by the Duke of Richmond, the very creator of the festival and owner of the estate where the legendary circuit is based, who called it "a feast for the eyes, a book that has become part of the long history of racing at Goodwood." "His eye for detail," says Duke, "the ability to capture the special moment of drama brought the Revival to life as no one else had been able to do before.
