During the 2022 portfolio readings, Italian photographer Costanza Gastaldi has won an artistic residency in Brazil, a collaboration between Photo Days, the Iandé collective and the Paranapiacaba Festival. Her images speak of a distant, colonial past, of the legends that have come down to us today, and of the future stakes involved in preserving the Mata Atlantica and its eco-system.

En 2022, Costanza Gastaldi est à New York City, invitée par la Fondation Penumbra à exposer ses œuvres parmi celles de maîtres comme Robert Mapplethorpe, Berenice Abbott, Alfred Stieglitz, lorsqu’elle apprend que son portfolio est pré sélectionné par Photo Days pour une résidence au Brésil. En quelques jours elle argumente et répond au dossier final de candidature. Le 23 décembre 2022 la nouvelle tombe comme un cadeau : elle est la lauréate du prestigieux prix et gagne la résidence au Brésil. Dès lors, Costanza imagine un projet autour du village de Paranapiacaba.
