"A Field of Blue is Not a Sky" is an exhibition of works by the students of the Limited-Residency MFA in Photography Program at the University of Hartford. Each of the twelve participating artists traverses disparate parts of the globe, offering figurative and subversive responses to diverse landscapes and the people who occupy them. The lens-based works, which range stylistically and technically, are imbued with a visual poetics that suggests photography is not an act of seeing but of showing, not an act of imaging but of imagining.
