From the 6th of June, photographer and artist Koen Hauser transformed the front room of Fotografiemuseum Hilversum into the Palace of Photographic Sculptures. This exhibition offers visitors a total installation of two-dimensional photographic images, in which sculpture and photography influence each other and blend seamlessly.

In ‘Palace of Photographic Sculptures’, the museum shows several of Hauser's projects. In these, he plays with the dimensions of photography and sculpture using digital techniques, such as AI, 3D rendering, and Photoshop. The exhibition includes works from his series Skulptura and new photographs from the ' Michelangelo Iconoclastia' project. For this all-new series, Hauser visually reinterpreted an old tourist guide about the work of sculptor Michelangelo. In Skulptura, he explores the cross-fertilization between photography, fashion, and sculpture.

Koen Hauser (Netherlands, 1972) works with photography, moving images, making books, installations, texts, and sculptures. He completed his master's degree in social psychology (1996, Leiden University), later followed by studies in photography at the Royal Academy of Art and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (2002). In 2014, Hauser was named Photographer of the Netherlands. Since 2019, he has focused entirely on his artistic practice.

The official opening of ‘Palace of Photographic Sculptures will take place on Thursday evening June 6th from 19.30 to 21.30 at Fotografiemuseum Hilversum.

Thursday evening, June 6, is the official opening of the exhibition 'Paleis van Fotografische Sculpturen' with a Podium MH. This evening photographer and artist Koen Hauser will give an artist talk. Admission is free and we welcome everyone to participate in this inspiring evening.
