The year 2024 marks 50 years since “New Japanese Photography” was held in 1974 at MoMA. The “NEW JAPANESE PHOTOGRAPHY 1974→2024” exhibition will feature 7 artists who embody the ‘present’ in consideration of the various changes that have occurred over this half century, as a presentation of “New Japanese Photography: 50 years later.” The scope encompassed by the words, “New Japanese Photography” has steadily transformed during the passage of these 50 years, and this exhibition will serve an unparalleled opportunity to put that on display, as well as a response to that 1974 exhibition.
