"LES ÉLÈVES DU LESC"

Exhibition: 15 September 2025 – 31 May 2026

Clervaux - Cité de l’Image and the Lycée Edward Steichen Clervaux (LESC) are expanding their collaboration with a new exhibition project in a public space. As part of this cooperation, the Lycée will receive its own garden in the Cité de l'Image, which will serve as a permanent exhibition space for the students' artwork. This creative space will enable young people to present their photographic and artistic projects to a wide audience and actively participate in the cultural development of the site.

1_Chapter
Between shelves full of files and notebooks, a hand searches for a specific story. Each file holds memories, thoughts and perhaps a forgotten chapter. The black and white emphasises the timelessness of the moment – as if leafing through the past. A quiet scene that tells of order, knowledge and hidden stories.

2_Childhood
A person hangs from a metal bar, suspended between the sky and the ground. The playground equipment becomes the stage for a little adventure, frozen in a moment of nostalgia. Childhood, courage or the desire not to let go of the moment.

3_Bus stop
In the light of the street lamps, a figure waits at the crosswalk – alone, in the midst of the nightly silence. The street is empty, but the image tells of movement that may begin at any moment. A place, a destination or just a stopover?

4_Tunnel
A person pushes their bicycle along a tree-lined path. The dense canopy of leaves forms a natural tunnel with light shining through at the end. The path seems quiet and secluded – as if it leads to a special place. A scene that tells of a new beginning, reflection or a simple moment of silence.

5_The room
Two people, separated by columns, connected by the same space. One is sitting, the other standing – both lost in thought. The concrete architecture seems cool and heavy, as if amplifying the silence. A scene that tells of distance, encounter or an unspoken moment.

6_Test
The silence of the room seems to organise thoughts while life goes on outside. A place of concentration emerges between the tree-like patterns on the walls. A scene that tells of inner peace, creativity or the beginning of an idea.

7_Borders
A person stands in front of a wall covered in symbols – silent, almost like part of the artwork. Barrier tape and traffic cones separate the scene from everyday life, as if it were frozen in a special moment. What has happened, what will happen next? The image tells of boundaries, expression and the question of where art begins.

8_X (Unnoticed)
A person walks alone along a path, accompanied by the shadow of a tree and the view of a wooded slope. Above them, two contrails cross in the sky to form an "X" – like a sign pointing to something. The moment seems calm, almost casual, and yet full of meaning. Perhaps a story begins here – or perhaps it ends at this very point.

"LES ÉLÈVES DU LESC"

Ausstellung: 15. September 2025 bis 31. Mai 2026

Clervaux - Cité de l’Image und das Lycée Edward Steichen Clervaux (LESC) vertiefen ihre Zusammenarbeit durch ein gemeinsames Ausstellungsprojekt im öffentlichen Raum.

Im Rahmen dieser Kooperation erhält das Lycée einen eigenen Garten in der Cité de l’Image, der künftig als dauerhafte Ausstellungsfläche für die Werke der Schüler:innen dient. Dieser kreative Freiraum ermöglicht es den Jugendlichen, ihre fotografischen und künstlerischen Projekte einem breiten Publikum zu präsentieren und aktiv an der kulturellen Gestaltung des Ortes teilzunehmen.

1_Kapitel
Zwischen den Regalen voller Ordner und Notizbücher sucht eine Hand nach einer bestimmten Geschichte. Jeder Ordner birgt Erinnerungen, Gedanken und vielleicht ein vergessenes Kapitel. Das Schwarz-Weiß betont die Zeitlosigkeit des Moments – als würde man in der Vergangenheit blättern. Eine stille Szene, die von Ordnung, Wissen und verborgenen Geschichten erzählt.

2_Kindheit
Eine Person hängt an einer Metallstange, festgehalten zwischen Himmel und Boden. Das Spielgerüst wird zur Bühne eines kleinen Abenteuers, eingefroren in einem Hauch von Nostalgie. – Kindheit, Mut oder der Wunsch, den Moment nicht loszulassen.

3_Haltestelle
Im Licht der Laternen wartet eine Gestalt am Zebrastreifen – allein, inmitten der nächtlichen Stille. Die Straße ist leer, doch das Bild erzählt von Bewegung, die vielleicht gleich beginnt. Ein Ort, ein Ziel oder nur ein Zwischenstopp?

4_Tunnel
Ein Mensch schiebt sein Fahrrad einen von Bäumen gesäumten Weg entlang. Das dichte Blätterdach bildet einen natürlichen Tunnel, durch den am Ende Licht scheint. Der Weg wirkt ruhig und abgeschieden – als würde er zu einem besonderen Ort führen. Eine Szene, die von Aufbruch, Nachdenken oder einem einfachen Moment der Stille erzählt.

5_Der Raum
Zwei Menschen, getrennt durch Säulen, verbunden durch den gleichen Raum. Einer sitzt, der andere steht – beide in Gedanken versunken. Die Betonarchitektur wirkt kühl und schwer, als würde sie die Stille verstärken. Eine Szene, die von Abstand, Begegnung oder einem unausgesprochenen Moment erzählt.

6_Test
Die Stille des Raumes scheint die Gedanken zu ordnen, während draußen das Leben weitergeht. Zwischen den baumartigen Mustern an den Wänden entsteht ein Ort der Konzentration. Eine Szene, die von innerer Ruhe, Kreativität oder dem Beginn einer Idee erzählt.

7_Grenzen
Vor einer Wand voller Zeichen steht eine Person - still, fast wie ein Teil des Kunstwerks. Absperrband und Verkehrskegel trennen die Szene vom Alltag, als wäre sie eingefroren in einem besonderen Moment. Was ist passiert, was wird noch geschehen? Das Bild erzählt von Grenzen, Ausdruck und der Frage wo, Kunst beginnt.

8_X (Unbemerkt)
Ein Mensch geht allein einen Weg entlang, begleitet vom Schatten eines Baumes und dem Blick auf einen bewaldeten Hang. Über ihm kreuzen sich zwei Kondensstreifen zu einem "X" am Himmel – wie ein Zeichen, das auf etwas hinweist. Der Moment wirkt ruhig, fast beiläufig, und doch voller Bedeutung. Vielleicht beginnt hier eine Geschichte – oder sie endet genau an diesem Punkt.
