This year’s edition presents an inspiring lineup of special exhibitions and curated sectors, from Beyond Photography, Annabelle’s Choice to Novum, offering bold perspectives and fresh discoveries that push the boundaries of the medium.Complementing the fair, an exclusive series of panel talks will bring together leading gallerists and visionary artists for thought-provoking conversations throughout the fair — creating a vibrant platform for exchange, insight, and connection at the heart of the international photography scene.

photo basel 2026 program.

In addition to showcasing the finest in photography from leading international galleries and over 150 exceptional artists, this year’s edition of photo basel presents an enriched and dynamic program dedicated entirely to the world of fine art photography. The 2026 lineup features a compelling mix of curated exhibitions, artist talks, panel discussions, and special projects that explore both classic and contemporary photographic practices. With a focus on innovation, critical dialogue, and cross-cultural exchange, photo basel continues to be a vital platform for collectors, curators, and photography enthusiasts alike.

beyond photography.

Established back in 2023, beyond photography enters its fourth year as a curated selection of photographic positions that challenge and expand the boundaries of the medium. Through the use of mixed media, experimental processes, special printing techniques or a shift from the two-dimensional to the three-dimensional, beyond photography invites viewers to explore how photography expands beyond the frame into new dimensions of artistic expression.

novum.

The novum selection features works that are being exhibited for the very first time. Whether they are brand new, recently remastered, long overlooked or forgotten. These works can now be (re)discovered at the fair. With novum, we highlight emerging artistic voices and surprise our audience with unseen perspectives, inviting collectors and visitors alike to encounter the unexpected.

annabelle’s choice.

Acclaimed Swiss magazine annabelle proudly presents a curated selection of outstanding female photographers, featuring remarkable talents from Switzerland and beyond. This inspiring showcase highlights diverse voices and visual perspectives that are shaping the contemporary photography landscape. From powerful documentary work to striking fashion editorials and intimate portraits, these female artists push creative boundaries and redefine storytelling through the lens. With this special feature, annabelle celebrates not only the artistic achievements of these women but also their role in challenging conventions and paving the way for future generations in the visual arts.
