The 2004 PIPF will fully embody the theme of "Civilization and Development", balancing depth with breadth with the former focusing on the global photographic artistry and the drastic evolution in human civilization and development and the latter generalizing the human scenery and artistic splendors across the five continents. Here one can slowly appreciate classic documentary vintage photos like sipping a strong brew of tea, as well as enjoying soul-stirring, virtual reality images and thought-provoking, artistic works. And no efforts will be spared to make the festival into a grand meeting where both domestic and international photographers can interact and exchange ideas; a stage on which photography lovers can show their talents; a pantheon in which best works can be showcased.
