In an era of overproduction and rapid image consumption, the act of lingering on a single photograph becomes a conscious, almost counter-cultural gesture. The selected work is drawn from the series In Almost Every Picture by the renowned Dutch artist Erik Kessels, which compiles photographic sequences by amateur photographers driven by specific obsessions. The work vacillates between the tragic and the absurd, posing a central question: when does repetition become obsession, and when does obsession become art?
