This year, The Hulett Collection presents a solo exhibition of Andy Mattern and his series “Ghost.” Over decades, platinum prints stacked against other papers can chemically transfer faint mirror images onto their backs. These unintended impressions — sometimes barely visible, sometimes strikingly clear — emerge slowly through time, pressure, and material interaction.

In “Ghost,” Mattern foregrounds these accidental apparitions, positioning photography as a medium that exceeds the artist’s control — less about image-making than image afterlife.
