How can two people be together if they live in two different hemispheres of the world? Is it possible to build a bridge between two places? The project unfolds between Italy and Chile and is based on specific architectural situations that have been studied or created.

The generator and catalyst of the project is a long-distance relationship between two people, divided between two distant continents, who try to draw closer by analysing the space that separates them.
Five situations are analysed: the bridge, two squares, the room/the doubt, the kiss and the desert.

Federica Mambrini (1994, Mantua) graduated in architecture (2019) and attended the Master in Photograhy at IUAV in Venice (2021). Her visual research develops around some attempts to investigate and sabotage balances and tensions through an interdisciplinary approach. She comes from an architectural background and is interested in everything that is built, to be built or to be rebuilt. Her first research project, “Come costruire un castello di carte”, was published in November 2022 with Giostre Edizioni. In 2023 she won the Italian Council funding in the field of talent development. Between 2023 and 2025 she held solo exhibitions at the Museo de Historia Natural de Valparaíso in Chile, at Mutty in Castiglione delle Stiviere (Mantua) and at Foto Forum in Bolzano.
