Photography as a porous territory
Art Photo Bcn is holding its 13th edition at the Disseny Hub Barcelona, consolidating
a model that brings together a fair, viewings, the Photobook Market, public activities,
workshops and an online platform designed as an active extension of the festival.
Over the course of three days, the programme will bring together national and
international galleries, established artists, emerging voices, industry professionals,
collectors and a diverse audience around an expanded interpretation of
contemporary photography. The online edition, running until 30 July, will extend this
experience through viewing rooms, interviews, recommendations and original
audiovisual content.
The curatorial focus for 2026 revolves around the idea of photography as a porous
territory: the image understood not as a closed medium, but as a space where
archive and document, body and landscape, memory and time, research processes
and contemporary ways of narrating reality intersect. Within this framework, Art
Photo Bcn proposes a plural and non-hierarchical reading of the current landscape,
connecting genealogies, contexts and generations, and reinforcing the critical,
reflective and non-spectacular nature of the project.
