On the occasion of the salon's 10th anniversary edition and the bicentenary of photography, CHAUSSEE 36 PHOTOGRAPHY will present an exclusive selection of light graphics by Heinz Hajek-Halke from the CHAUSSEE 36 PHOTOGRAPHY collection, exhibited for the first time in France.
A major 20th-century artist and pioneer of experimental imagery, Heinz Hajek-Halke (1898–1983) continuously pushed the boundaries of the photographic medium. Born from extensive darkroom experimentation in the 1950s and 1960s, his abstract, camera-less Lichtgrafiken (light graphics) seamlessly merge chemical processes with techniques drawn from the fine arts.
All works presented are unique vintage prints - masterpieces as well as rarer motifs - from the archives of the Heinz Hajek-Halke Collection, managed by CHAUSSEE 36 PHOTOGRAPHY. This presentation reflects our ongoing commitment to preserving and highlighting experimental photographic histories.
