The relation between man, architecture and the nature of public spaces forms the core of Mona Breede's photographic work which is hosted at the Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center in the context of the 11th International Month of Photography. "People and Spaces" is the title of the exhibition which lasts from October 7 to November 13. Mona Breede's works are digitally arranged photographs, which depict the movement of human beings, their rhythm in the geometrical space. The real place turns therefore into a public, architectonical setting while its rigorous outlines produce an obvious antipode to the soft-focus effect of the contours of man. What is common to all photographs of the exhibition is that the appearance of people depicted does not seem to be in union with nature, on the contrary, it seems to be in conflict with her. However, as the gallery owner Peter Dittman mentions, the space becomes important because of the presence of humans. Mona Breede's works have -despite their geometrical form- an unintrusive poetry, which is activated from the instinctiveness of man: persons lade the place rhythmically, inspirit it and diffuse its precision.
