Chang Qing lives in Taiyuan, Shanxi. While travelling the cities of his province, he photographs local theater troups and specifically the ugliness of their diformed actors. Using harsh lighting and strong composition he gives an intense image of these outcast characters. Chang Qing's lens shows them totaly immersed in their stage roles and outlines physical strength but also pride and assertiveness.
