This will his first presentation in Latin America of " Diana : The Rose Conspiracy " a fictional video work based on the true story of Princess Diana of Wales. What is the Rose Conspiracy ? A top secret plan enabling to rescue Princess Diana after her attempted murder in Paris 1997, and then to re locate her in Montevideo, Uruguay, under a new identity. The Princess now leads a pleasant and anonymous life in a " favella " neighborhood of Uruguay where she teaches yoga, dances with the neighbor's kids, and even has a 22 year old boyfriend called Washington. In sum, Diana does all the things impossible to her during her life as a public persona. Who is behind this ? The Good Girls - a super secret female society who, since the beggining of civilization, fight male power and absolutism. After Lady Diana became the most famous person in the world during the 90's, other secret forces tried to kill her in a car accident...and failed. As one of their leading members, she is under strict protection. Do you think that is some sort of coincidence ? What would have happened if Diana would have been present in NY on September 11th of 2001 , and had lived to see Ground Zero ? How about Diana visiting the Tsunami victims ? What would have been of Diana and Dodi married, perhaps with a muslim child, in this present moment of fear and terror ? Diana Power Hard times breed turbulence, unfolding one tragedy after aonther : Diana's accident , Mother Teresa's death, almost at the same time. Diana princess of Wales represented and idilic world. Her charisma, as well as life in the lime-light, captured everyone's attention. Her strength as a woman transmitted values such as glamour, love and care - lethal weapons to change the world. She was more dangerous than Bin Laden. She was blond. Martin Sastre, Uruguay - lives and works in Madrid, Spain. In 2004, he received first prize for artist under 40 at the ARCO Fair. His work was shown at the Mercosul International Bienial in 2001, Prague International Bienial in 2002, Havana Bienial in 2003, and the Sao Paulo Interantional Bienial in 2004 . Sastre has also participated in solo and group shows in Australia, USA, Spain , England, France, China.
