Igen i år præsenterer ARKEN et udvalg af museets seneste indkøb til samlingen. Vægten er lagt på samlingens internationale profil. Fælles for de udstillede kunstnere er, at de enten arbejder med vores fysiske omgivelser eller sætter fokus på mennesket. Værkerne afspejler samtidskunstens engagement i virkeligheden omkring os: Hvordan sanser vi vores omverden? Hvordan opfatter vi naturen? Samtidig præsenterer udstillingen en række værker som handler om os selv. De udfordrer vores egen selvforståelse og dykker ned i eksistentielle problemstillinger. Udstillingen viser værker af Jeff Koons, Sarah Lucas, Mona Hatoum, Olafur Eliasson, Esko Männikko, Michael Elmgreen & Ingar Dragset, Keith Cottingham, Tilo Baumgärtel, Richard Woods, Christian Boltanski, Clay Ketter og Dan Graham. ___english___ Again this year ARKEN presents a selection of the latest acquisitions for its Collection. The emphasis this time is on the Collection’s international profile. A common feature among the exhibited artists is either a concern with our physical surroundings or a focus on man. The works reflect contemporary art’s interest in the reality around us: How do we perceive our surroundings? How do we perceive nature? Furthermore the exhibition presents a number of works dealing with ourselves, challenging our understanding of self and plummeting existential issues.
