Our October 15, 2007 auction of Important Photographs includes a range of works by fine art and contemporary photographers. We are especially proud to be offering the C. W. Sahlman Collection of maritime photographs, with masterworks by Fox Talbot, Le Gray, Ponting, Atget, Weston and Bourke-White as well a partial set of Edward S. Curtis's "The North American Indian," with 16 text volumes and 16 portfolios containing supplementary large-format photogravures.
Iconic images by Carroll, Cuvelier, Watkins and Stieglitz are highlighted. Classical works by Horst, Newton, Frank, Brassai, Abbott, Hine, Smith, DeCarava, and Sudek are also featured in addition to contemporary prints by Mann, Burtynsky, Clark, Wegman, and Misrach.
The public preview begins tomorrow, Tuesday, October 9th.
We are open weekdays, from October 9th-12th, from 10AM to 6PM.
Saturday, October 13th from 10AM to 4PM.
Sunday, October 14th by appointment only.
Monday, October 15th, the morning of the sale, from 10AM to Noon.
