Am 29. Mai 2008 eröffnet die Villa Grisebach Auktionen in Berlin ihre diesjährigen Frühjahrsversteigerungen mit der Photographie-Auktion, in der rund 300 Losnummern klassischer und zeitgenössischer Photographie aufgerufen werden.

Hervorzuheben ist das Angebot seltener und herausragender Vintage-Abzüge der deutschen Photokunst des 20. Jahrhunderts, u.a. ein großes Blatt von Aenne Biermanns „Anthurie“ von 1927-29, aus dem Nachlass der Künstlerin stammend (6.000 – 8.000 €), Heinz Hajek-Halkes Aktkomposition als Lichtmontage durch Seide vergrößert von 1930-36 (4.000 – 6.000 €), Edmund Kestings „Aschermittwoch 1945“ aus der Serie „Totentanz“ (4.000 – 6.000 €) oder Otto Steinerts „Pont Neuf, Paris“ von 1949 (6.000 – 8.000 €).

Weitere Höhepunkte im Bereich klassischer Photographie sind u.a. Martin Munkácsis „Leni Riefenstahl beim Skilaufen“ von 1930-31 (10.000 – 15.000), Paul Strands „St. Hippolyte“ von 1950 (10.000 – 15.000 €), Horst P. Horsts „American Nude“  (8.000 – 10.000 €), vier „Wassertürme“ von Bernd und Hilla Becher (8.000 – 10.000 €), Behn Shahns „A deputy with a gun on his hip during the Sept. 1935 strike in Morgantown, West Virginia“ (6.000 – 9.000 €) oder Roman Vishniacs „Warsaw“ von 1937 (6.000 – 8.000 €). Arbeiten bekannter Photographen wie Hans Bellmer, Andreas Feininger, André Kertesz, Albert Renger-Patzsch und August Sander sowie spannende Entdeckungen wie die Mappe „Africa Orientale Italiana“ aus dem Jahr 1939 von Georg Schultze (3.500 – 4.500 €) oder ein Portrait Lilian Seeleys als großer gewachster Gummidruck um 1910 von George H. Seeley (5.000 – 7.000 €) runden das Angebot ab.

Spitzenlose bei den Zeitgenossen sind: Peter Lindberghs Portfolio von 2001 mit 10 Platin-Palladium-Abzügen seiner bekanntesten Motive (42.000 – 48.000 €), gefolgt von Hiroshi Sugimotos „Fagus Shoe Last Factory – Walter Gropius“ (14.000 – 16.000 €), William Egglestons Dye Transfer „Dust Bells, Green Bureau“ (12.000 – 15.000 €) und Tracey Moffatts „Something More #5“ (10.000 – 15.000 €). Weitere hochkarätige Namen sind u.a. Robert Mapplethorpe, Sarah Moon, Shirin Neshat, Helmut Newton, Bettina Rheims oder Jörg Sasse

On May 29, 2008, Villa Grisebach will begin this year’s spring sales with a photography auction that will include approximately 300 classic and contemporary photographs.

A special emphasis has been placed on rare and extraordinary Vintage German photographs from the 20th Century, e.g. a large print by Aenne Biermann titled „Anthurie“ (1927-29) from the Estate of the artist (6,000 – 8,000 euros), a composition with nude as a light-montage enlarged through silk by Heinz Hajek-Halkes, 1930-36 (4,000 – 6,000 euros), Edmund Kesting’s „Aschermittwoch 1945“ (Ash Wednesday 1945) from the series „Totentanz“ (Dance of Death) (4,000 – 6,000 euros) or Otto Steinert’s „Pont Neuf, Paris“ from 1949 (6,000 – 8,000 euros).
