Lisette Model - Mois de la Photo
Exhibition: 7 Nov 2002 – 4 Jan 2003
Installed in New York in 1938, Lisette Model collaborated with magazines, meeting Brodovitch, Abbott, and Strand. From 1951 on, she taught at the New School for Social Research in New York, where one of her students was Diane Arbus. The photography of Lisette Model essentially deals with individuals, famous or "miserables" she followed in the street, in bars, in hotels, in casino halls. Model furnishes these portraits with a realism that enlightens us about all levels of society. Catalog published by Léo Scheer.
